OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Becky is a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist, committed to supporting children in developing gross motor skills, overcoming sensory difficulties, enhancing executive functioning skills, and managing school-related challenges and daily activities.
Passionate about creating engaging and enjoyable sessions, she tailors her approach to each child's interests, utilising various environments such as playcentres, parks, schoolyards, and art rooms to make therapy meaningful and fun.
Becky holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Teesside University in North-East England. Prior to this, she completed an undergraduate degree in Business and Management from the University of Sunderland in the UK and Valdosta State University in Georgia, USA. Continuously striving for professional growth, Becky is currently completing the CO-OP (Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance) certification.
With a decade of experience working for the NHS, Becky contributed significantly to the development of mental health services in emergency departments, community services, and inpatient units in the northeast of the UK.
Her volunteer work spans diverse settings, including supporting indigenous populations in Ecuador within their cultural contexts and working with children with serious illnesses at Barretstown in Ireland, alongside providing support to their families.
Becky has a special interest in generational trauma and its impact on occupational engagement, as well as a focus on children's mental health and neurodevelopment disorders, and youth justice.
Beyond her professional life, Becky enjoys travelling and immersing herself in new cultures. She volunteers with a charity, tutoring English and maths to disadvantaged children. Originally from Sunderland, England, Becky now enjoys life in Melbourne, particularly appreciating the vibrant café scene.
